Farm Credit Services of Hawaii, ACA 4-H/ FFA Grant Program
Farm Credit Services of Hawaii, ACA believes that investments made in
local 4-H and Future Farmers of America are investments made in the
future of agriculture in Hawaii. The 4-H/ FFA Grant Program was designed
to encourage youth to participate in qualified 4-H and Future Farmers of
America livestock projects.
The program is available on the islands of Hawaii, Kauai, Maui,
Molokai/Lanai, and Oahu. Grant participants will be selected by local
4-H / FFA leaders based on merit and financial need. Farm Credit
Services of Hawaii, ACA will donate $500 towards livestock projects on
each of those islands. The $500 will be disbursed via the local 4-H and
FFA leaders for the purchase of livestock for a qualified project. The
grant to each participant can be for either the full purchase amount or
to subsidize the purchase, depending on the number of participants in
the grant program for that island and the type of animals purchased. The
money provided is a grant and no repayment is required.
Farm Credit Services of Hawaii, ACA hopes that the grants will increase
participation (by those who might not be able to participate for
financial reasons) in qualified projects, and strengthen local 4-H / FFA
chapters.
